~Why Not Give Yourself An Idea Quota

After a few weeks off for some much needed R and R it is time to get back into the swing of things.

Sometimes one of the best ways to be productive is to just get away from it all. When your mind becomes bogged down trying to think it becomes a chore. Just let go for awhile, you will be amazed at what can happen.

Set yourself an Idea Quota.

Thomas Edison is legendary for his creative output.

By the time of his death, he held 1,093 patents, which is quite a record for any one single individual.

He ensured productivity by giving himself and his co-workers idea quotas.

Edison's own personal idea quota involved coming up with one minor invention every 10 days and a major invention every six months. Isn't that amazing!

Now for most of us it would be a miracle to create just one minor invention in a lifetime.

But we set our targets far too low!

Surely I can come up with at least one idea per day.

Write a book.

Create a Blog article.

Create a website.

Genius grows by the demands placed upon it.

Get motivated and "Give Yourself An Idea Quota"

Force yourself to come up with 50 ideas if you are working alone. If you are part of a team, expand the quota.

Creative types are often the worst in the world for procrastination, and for languishing in their "art".
Forget it!

If you want to be remembered as one of the greats, get your rear in gear
because you've got a lot of catching up to do.

If you want to wear the label "Genius" you need to be prodigious!
Now prodigious means that out of quantity will come quality.

When you are generating ideas, some will be bad. Dont worry over it.

But think of them as stepping-stones to the good ones. If you didn't get the bad ideas, you might not cross over to the "million dollar" ideas.

Edison knew this and was also very cognisant of the fact that bad ideas can combine to form good ones.

"If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward." Thomas Edison

The more Ideas you can come up with the more chances you will have at coming up with
the winning one.

Albert Einstein is famous for his theory of relativity, but he published 248 other papers.

What are you waiting for have an idea!
