~Generating New Ideas--- A System

Generating New Ideas--- A System

Einstein believed that every new idea is some addition or modification to something that already exists.

So how do you generate new ideas?

You take an old subject, idea or problem and manipulate or change it into something else.

There are nine principle ways you can manipulate a subject.

These are arranged into the SCAMPER System.

You isolate the subject you want to think about and ask the SCAMPER questions to see what new ideas and thoughts emerge.

Think about any subject from improving the paperclip to reorganizing your corporation.

You'll find that ideas start popping up almost involuntarily, as you ask if you can:

S = Substitute something?

C = Combine your subject with something else?

A = Adapt something to your subject?

M = Magnify or modify-add to it or change it in some fashion?

P = Put it to some other use?

E = Eliminate something from it?

R = Rearrange or reverse it?

~Finding Mentors

~Finding Mentors

What is a mentor?

Einstein, Edison and Newton are obvious mentors of mine on this blog.

They are mentors who have passed in this life but we can still learn from them.

The source of the modern use of the word mentor: a trusted friend, counselor or teacher, usually a more experienced person.

Some professions have "mentoring programs" in which newcomers are paired with more experienced people in order to obtain good examples and advice as they advance, and schools sometimes have mentoring programs for new students or students who are having difficulties.

Today mentors provide their expertise to less experienced individuals in order to help them advance their careers, enhance their education, and build their networks. Many of the world's most successful people have benefited from having a mentor.

One of my living mentors is Dr Joe Vitale. I have learned so much in the few months I have been online.

Do yourself a favor. Get some free mentoring from Dr Joe Vitale yourself. http://thinkemc2.com/hypnoticmarketing/vitale.htm

~Purpose

~Purpose

All Three were considered to be Scientist with a slight difference

Einstein and Newton wanted to discover how the universe worked.

Edison wanted to invent things.

Einstein and Newton used their minds to understand how the universe worked and became successful.

Edison used his mind to invent products for us all to use he became very successful.

Bill Gate knew he wanted Windows on every computer built.

Christina Aguilera knew she wanted to sing.

John Travolta knew he wanted to be an actor.

~Persistence

~Persistence

A quality that seems to describe how Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison were so successful is persistence.
One of Edison’s new challenges was to develop a better storage battery for use in electric vehicles. Edison very much enjoyed automobiles and owned a number of different types during his life, powered by gasoline, electricity, and steam.
Edison thought that electric propulsion was clearly the best method of powering cars, but realized that conventional lead-acid storage batteries were inadequate for the job.
Edison began to develop an alkaline battery in 1899. It proved to be Edison’s most difficult project, taking ten years to develop a practical alkaline battery.

~I’m So Sick and Tired

~I’m So Sick and Tired

"Discontent is the first necessity of progress."
--Thomas A. Edison

I’m sick and tired of not having any money.

I’m sick and tired of my job.

I’m sick and tired of my boss.

I’m sick and tired of living this way.

I’m so sick and tired of being sick and tired.

How many times are you going to say I’m so sick and tired of this before YOU change it?

Stop doing what you’re doing!

~Its Already There

~Its Already There

Did Newton invent Gravity or was it already there?

Did Einstein invent the equation E=mc2 or was it already there?

Did Edison invent the light bulb or were the answers already there?

Newton had a problem; he wanted to know why the apple fell to the earth. He found the answer.

Einstein had a problem: he wanted to know how energy was related to matter. He found the answer.

Edison had a problem: he wanted to find a better filament to make a light bulb last longer. He found the answer.

Einstein believed that every new idea is some addition or modification to something that already exists.
Any problem you could ever have, the answer is already there. Find the answer!

~Problems

~Problems

“We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” Albert Einstein

There are only three basic problems in life,

Money, Health, and Relationships.

Every problem relates to these three areas or a combination of them.

By understanding this, we get a much clearer picture of whatwe must do to solve the problem.

1) Break your focus on the problem-
Oftentimes, we are so caught up in the emotions of the problem that we overlooksimple solutions. Disconnecting from the problem also allowsthe most powerful part of our mind, the subconscious, tobegin a massive search for answers. We need to let our conscious mind get out of the way. Manyof the geniuses in the past made great discoveries when theytook a break from the problem.

Thomas Edison by taking naps.

2) Imagine how you would feel if the desired outcome reallyhappened-By projecting yourself into the future and actuallyfeeling the emotions of success, you point your brain intofocusing on the solution and not the problem.

Einstein used his imagination extensively. It has been said that what your mind attends to, iteventually achieves--so if you constantly dwell on yourproblems, you'll get really good at getting more problems.

3) Say thank you and let the problem go-Your act of gratitude signals a conclusion and release. You've let go ofthe problem and all the worries along with it. .When you no longer struggle with the problem, the things youwant seem to come to you effortlessly.
You'll see answers (signs)you've never seen before.
Things will fall into place.

~Imagination

~Imagination

Albert Einstein said that imagination is the greatest creative force. Why would such a great man say something that sounds so silly and trivial? Look at those words again: ‘greatest creative force’. Imagination? Not education? Not money? Not luck?

Imagination is the creative force that allows me to create this blog.

It is the creative force that created the computer you are reading this post on.

It is the creative force that allows us to drive cars, and allows us to fly from one place to another
and even go to the moon.

Imagination is the creative force that has created everything we can see.

Einstein wondered what it would be like to travel along side a wave of light. he discovered that it would be very difficult to do so. He discovered that light moves very fast, at 186,000 miles per second.

That's a lot faster than any vehicle that we have developed can go!

So Albert used his imagination to place himself traveling at that speed, and that is how he discovered relativity.

Creativity and imagination were very important to Albert Einstein. He thought about mass and energy in a new, creative way, and it allowed him to become probably the most famous scientist of this century.

Creativity and imagination are excellent tools for solving problems, and Albert Einstein is an excellent example of this.

Imagination is a very important creative force that leads to your success.

Imagination is the force that takes you to places you have never been.

~Concentration

~Concentration

Concentration ignores everything except that upon which attention is focused.

Newton had an unusual ability to concentrate even at an early age. Often he forgot about the sheep and they wandered away from the farm. One evening during a severe storm, the family worried about the animals and the barn. But Isaac was not interested in the sheep; he was trying to find a way to measure the speed of the wind."

"A phenomenal ability to concentrate protected him against distraction."

Einstein had the same characteristic: "The only hint that the potential genius might be the real Einstein came from his ferocious concentration on the task to be done and his determination that nothing should be allowed to divert him from it."

A great ability to concentrate existed throughout their lives.
Newton always did a thorough job. His endurance, persistence, and attention to minute details were remarkable. He attributed much of his success to staying with a problem until it was finished.
At one time he wrote 18 drafts of a report before accepting one as final, although the last version did not differ much from the others."

Einstein could sit by the hour and watch an ant colony at work. His concentration could be maintained almost indefinitely. As a young boy he was given a compass. He was enchanted to find that the compass needle always pointed in one direction and played with it for weeks.

“Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves”. Albert Einstein
