~Spare time

~Spare time

Albert Einstein was completely exhausted.

For the third night in a row, his baby son Hans, crying, kept the household awake until dawn. When Albert finally dozed off … it was time to get up and go to work.

He couldn't skip a day. He needed his job at the patent office to support his young family.

Walking briskly to the Patent Office, where he was a "Technical Expert, Third Class," Albert worried about his mother. She was getting older and frail, and she didn't approve of his marriage to Mileva.

Relations were strained.

Albert glanced at a passing shop window. His hair was a mess; he had forgotten to comb it again.
Work. Family. Making ends meet. Albert felt all the pressure and responsibility of any young husband and father.

In 1905, at the age of 26 and four years before he was able to get a job as a professor of physics, Einstein published five of the most important papers in the history of science--all written in his "spare time."

You’re working that crummy low paying job…

You’re working so hard all you want to do is sleep…

You want to call in but you cant afford to…

The kids are getting on your nerves…

Money problems are causing friction between you and your wife…

And your mother isn’t helping matters much…

What are you doing in your spare time?
Watching TV, surfing the web, drinking beer, talking on the phone…

Einstein wrote papers on Relativity.

You could write a book, build a website, and create a blog.
Heck maybe someday somebody will actually read the darn thing…

I’m going to go chop some wood now!
“People love chopping wood. In this activity one immediately sees results”. Albert Einstein

Here’s to success. Sincerely Bill Simmon
